Begun in Richmond, Melbourne, the "Fiddle Festival" has blossomed and is in full swing as part of the Australia-Japan Year of Exchange 2006. Jazz pianist Joe Chindamo and a host of Australia's best fiddlers will join Japanese Irish-style professionals in broadening the formal repertoire of the violin into its popular forms of folk, country, bluegrass and jazz.

Including performances with Japanese musicians, workshops and contests, the Fiddle Festival program caters for those who wish to play and those who wish to listen and enjoy.
